The Art of Thanksgiving

There’s an art to most everything. Things become artful when we’re thankful. When was the last time you were thankful for a temper tantrum, cancer diagnosis, or financial struggle? What about being thankful for a headache, traffic jam, or natural disaster?

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Thessalonians 5:18

Thankfulness helps us recognize the beautiful artistry of life. Especially when we are most thankful for who God is, that He’s given us life, and what He’s done to restore us to Himself.

THE MEDIUM OF THANKFULNESS
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100

When God becomes the medium (source) of our thankfulness nothing can keep us from living out the commands found in Colossians 3:17. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. So how can we express the thankfulness of God throughout our lives?

THE STEPS OF THANKFULNESS
Every experience of life consists of artistic steps. The key to being thankful through it all is being mindful of God’s goodness through each step. Lets take a look at each step to get a better understanding of how God’s thankfulness is expressed.
