IS THIS PURITY?
A seemingly perfect sunrise, true love, a couple that has been married for 60 plus years, or fresh powder on your favorite downhill ski slope. Although great, none of these things are pure. We seem to abuse (sail short) the word “purity”.

In all of creation there is only on pure thing, God. The beautiful mystery of scriptures teaches us that upon salvation we’ve been given new life. Salvation gives us the ability to begin to interact with God, in other words, experience purity.

What is God’s Purity?

What may God be asking you to do that would help you experience His purity?

IS THIS SEEING GOD?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could”see” God? For example, your driving down the road and traffic gets crazy so you shout out the name of the Lord…aka “GOD!” All of a sudden He’s sitting next to you. What if you simply closed your eyes to pray and as soon as you started the prayer, “Lord…” He touches your arm to get your attention. Here’s another, you are changing the 10th diaper in 3 hours and you start praying, “God, I need some help, I can’t change another diaper.” Suddenly his pushed His way between you and your baby knee deep in diaper sewage, taken care of business.

Seeing God like this would get us vaporized. In God’s perfection it is impossible for us to see Him in all His glory. Seeing God is subtler. We see Him through our babies first cry, our wife’s smile as she walks down the isle, the His love letter (The Bible), through a loving community of Christians, and all of creation when we slow down to take it all in. Most importantly, we should see God through our own reflection. Seek to become more like him every moment of the every day.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8

Our attitudes and priorities are crucial. God must become the author of our attitudes and the single priority that determines any other priority. With this type of focus our lives will increasingly reflect God’s purity and God will be seen. 

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
