How can your encounters with Jesus intensify?
Jesus is the living manifestation of God’s grace. At the Last Supper the disciples broke bread with God’s grace. What an amazing picture. These twelve men had the privilege of taking communion with Jesus, who revealed to them God’s plan to redeem mankind. They knew him, touched him, laughed with him, cried with him, ate with him, and struggled with him. Their communion was deep and their friendship was beautifully messy. Yet at that point in History what they had pails in comparison to the fellowship of the Son that we can have today. The fellowship of the Son enriches our speech and knowledge, transforms us into a complete representation of Christ Jesus, frees us of all guilt and shame, and continually calls for deeper fellowship (Read 1 Corinthians 1: 4-9).
So what kind of relationship is the fellowship of His Son calling us to? This deeper fellowship calls for an intimacy that penetrates every fabric of our existence, protects us from any harm, and permeates our surroundings.
Penetrates
Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Have you allowed God’s word, Jesus, to penetrate into all areas of your life?
Protects
Psalm 121:7 (ESV)
7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
Do you live your life differently knowing you are protected?
Permeates
2 Corinthians 2:15 (ESV)
15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,
What would others say about what you permeate?
