Is it arrogant to say that your religion is the only right one?
It’s not arrogant it’s being confident. There are many things that I’m confident in. I am confident that my wife loves me, my dogs will bark when I get home, and that Nate can take one regular sized sheet of paper and step right through it. Check the video out to see what I’m talking about.
Confidence is to believe what you know to be true IS true. For Christians it our confidence is found in knowing Jesus. The more we know Jesus the more confidence we have. The more we know Jesus the less we need to know about everything else. The more we know Jesus the more we begin to think with an eternal mindset. Take Steven for example. He was so confident in Jesus and the gospel message that in today’s society he would have been considered arrogant in some circles.

What makes Steven’s words so honorable? He knows the way, the truth, and the life of Christ. He was so sure of who Jesus was that everything else in life became insignificant. Paul put it like this, “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish (dung), in order that I may gain Christ.”Philippians 3:8 (ESV)

The Life of a follower of Christ will follow after His ways, His truths, and His life. There is no room for additions or subtraction. His ways are evident through scripture, the Holy Spirit, and the Church. The disciples believed Jesus but felt they needed more. Do you feel like you need more? Is the way, truth, and life of Jesus not enough? Has it been enough but you’ve become lazy in your approach and neglected your relationship with Jesus? The disciples did need more. They needed more than Jesus as a fellow journeyman. They needed Jesus as a Savior, and that’s exactly what they got. The resurrected Jesus became the way, the truth, and the life that they longed for, and Jesus had previously talked to them about. Do you have a relationship with Jesus that is based on his saving grace? Do you want that type of relationship with Him? Are you living a life that embodies Jesus’ way, truth, and life?
The Way – to life perfected through Christ and in relationship with God the Father.
The Truth – that holds all truth together. The truth is the foundations by which every truth is called truth.
The Life – by which all life has been created and held together.
